NBA 2K19 is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the 20th installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K18. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on September 11, 2018 as well as for Android and iOS on September 11, 2018.

Development

NBA 2K19 was officially announced on June 5, 2018 and the early access prelude was able to be played August 31, 2018 and released on September 11, 2018; players who pre-ordered the 20th Edition of the game received it on September 7, 2018. It was the first game in the series since NBA 2K6 (Xbox 360) and NBA 2K7 (PlayStation 3) to not be released for either platform. It was released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android. Current star Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is the cover athlete for the standard edition version of the game, while current star LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is the cover athlete for the 20th Anniversary Edition, which includes various physical and digital extras. James was previously the cover athlete of NBA 2K14 for the Standard Edition.

Reception

NBA 2K19 since its released has gathered "generally favorable reviews" on Metacritic and has earned a metascore of 82/100 on PS4[1], 83/100 on Xbox One[2], 82/100 on Nintendo Switch[3], and 76/100 on PC[4].
